Integrative Practices Residential

(2 units)

The Integrative Practices Residential is a five-day, in-person experience held on USC’s campus during the student’s first term in the program.

Students join with classmates, faculty and industry experts to explore new concepts in a concentrated hackathon-style experience. An emphasis is placed on teamwork and the application of cross-disciplinary perspectives. Students will generate and critique work while exploring team roles that may be outside of prior experience.

The residential builds on the first few weeks of work in the Processes and Perspectives course, requiring students to consider problems as designers, business professionals and technologists.

The residential is held on USC’s campus, giving students time to enjoy campus life and connect with their classmates. Collaborative work will include time in the Iovine and Young Academy’s facilities, dynamic workspaces designed to support collaborative teamwork and hands-on fabrication.
